About the Conference

Econometric Conference on Big Data and AI in Honor of Ronald Gallant

 Call for Paper

The Institute of Economics at Tsinghua University and Institute of Statistics and Big Data at Renmin University of China will jointly sponsor a conference in honor of Dr. Ronald Gallant’s contribution to econometrics, with a theme on how computational methods, big data and AI affect economic research. The conference is to be held in Beijing, China on Dec 21, 2018.   Data driven scientific discovery is becoming increasingly important in econometrics and more generally in economic research. New models and techniques are needed both to  analyze the complex structure of the big data and to exploit the rich data to gain new insights.  This conference is intended to facilitate exchange of ideas among the econometrics community in areas related to development and application of data-driven scientific discovery.   Please submit your papers to jiang-t17@mails.tsinghua.edu.cn before October 31, 2018 for full considerations.  Tsinghua University will provide two days accommodation including December 20 and 21, 2018 to non-local paper presenters. All submissions will be selected by a review committee for paper presentation on the conference.   If you have further questions about the conference, please feel free to contact Mr. Tao Jiang at jiang-t17@mails.tsinghua.edu.cn.   Organizing Committee: Chunrong Ai, Department of Economics, University of Florida Han Hong, Department of Economics, Stanford University Taoxiong Liu, Institute of Economics, Tsinghua University Ke Tang, Institute of Economics, Tsinghua University
